Ejari Fees in Dubai: Check the Total Before Paying

In Short

DLD currently lists AED 177.75 for its online/app registration route and AED 220 for the trustee route. Check the current bill and distinguish official fees from any separate service charges.

Ejari fees are one part of a Dubai rental budget. Before paying, check which service route is being used and ask for the complete amount. This helps avoid mixing the official registration cost with other moving or agency expenses.

Check the official published totals

As checked on 26 September 2026, the DLD registration and renewal page lists AED 177.75 through its website or Dubai REST route and AED 220 through a trustee centre. Verify the current total before applying. The trustee component figures on the page do not reconcile exactly with its stated total, so confirm the final bill directly.

Ask what the quote includes

If a property manager, agent or other provider helps with the process, ask whether its quote contains a separate service charge. Request an itemised amount rather than accepting one unexplained number.

Check the service name, the property concerned and the person receiving payment. Make sure you know whether you are paying for registration, renewal, cancellation or another task. These should not be treated as interchangeable labels.

Keep the move-in budget separate

Create different lines for rent, security deposit, agency fee, registration, utility setup, moving and furnishing. Mark deposits clearly because they may be refundable under their own terms, while service charges generally have a different purpose.

Put due dates beside each item. Even a manageable annual budget can create pressure if several payments are due in the same week. Keep enough funds for the full move rather than planning around rent alone.

Save the payment evidence

Keep the receipt, application reference and final registration record together. Check that the receipt relates to the correct service and property. A payment confirmation is useful evidence, but also check the application result.

If a payment appears to fail, review its status through the official provider before paying again. Avoid sending sensitive card or identity details to an unknown person offering to fix the issue.

Review the final record

Once the process is complete, compare the tenancy details with the signed agreement. Ask the relevant provider about any mismatch. Keep the current version easy to find and label older records so they are not used by mistake.
