Test the living room with real furniture
Measure the sofa, dining and desk positions. Leave space to walk to the balcony and open doors. Check whether the television and sockets allow the arrangement you want without trailing cables across the room.
Look at daylight and privacy from the position where you would sit. A bright room may feel different if curtains need to stay closed for much of the day.
Check separation from the bedroom
